Seed Chips
320 grams chia seeds
240 grams sunflower seeds
240 grams pumpkin seeds
700 grams water
1 clove garlic, mince
2 tablespoons shallots, minced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon turmeric
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium mixing bowl, combine pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, sunflower seeds, shallots, garlic, salt, turmeric, cayenne pepper and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are combined well. Add the water to the seed and spice mix and fold the ingredients into each other so the water is well incorporated. Let it sit for 5 minutes, or until the chia seeds have completely absorbed the water.
Set aside a flat 13”x 9” flat sheet tray and cover the surface with a silpat or a piece of parchment paper, to cover the full surface of the tray. When the seed mix is ready, put on the tray and using an offset spatula or regular spatula, spread the mix very thin, until it reaches the edges of the sheet tray.
Put it in the oven for 15 min. Take out the chips and roughly cut the chips to your desired size. I like to cut the chips, 6 pieces by 8 pieces. After cutting, flip the chips over and bake for another 10 minutes. Let cool and store in a an air tight container.
