Make These Chocolate Babka Donuts This Chanuka

Ingredients

• 3⁄4 cup whole milk
• 4 large eggs, lightly beaten
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 1 stick unsalted butter at room temperature, cubed
• 3 1⁄2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1⁄2 cup sugar
• 1 Tbsp active dry yeast
• 1 tsp kosher salt
• For the chocolate pastry cream:
• 4 large egg yolks
• 1/4 cup sugar
• 2 Tbsp cornstarch
• 4 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
• 1/2 tsp fine sea salt
• 1 1/2 cups milk
• 4 oz. bittersweet chocolate, broken into pieces
• 1/2 stick unsalted butter, cubed
• For the cacao nib sugar + frying:
• 6 cups vegetable oil, for frying
• 2 cups sugar
• 4 Tbsp cacao nibs
