- 6 ripe plum tomatoes, peeled
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon tomato paste
- ¼ pound prosciutto, sliced 1/8 inch thick, slivered
- ½ cup fresh or frozen (thawed) peas, blanched for 3 to 5 minutes if fresh
- 1 pound medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- ½ cup torn fresh basil leaves
