- 3 fresh pandan leaves, tied into a knot
- 1/3 cup dark brown sugar
- For the Kaya Toast:
- 2 slices white bread
- 1 1/2 tablespoons salted butter, thinly sliced
- 1 soft boiled egg , for serving
- Dark soy sauce, for serving
