- 2 tablespoon ground Sichuan peppercorn
- 3/4 soy sauce
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon light brown sugar (or white sugar)
- 2 teaspoon whole Sichuan peppercorn
- 1 star anise
- 1/2 cinnamon stick
- 2 whole cloves
- 1/3 cup Chinese black vinegar
- 1 tablespoon peanut oil (vegetable oil)
- 3 roma tomatoes, chopped
- 3 tablespoons tomato paste
- 4 servings homemade fresh noodles (or dried noodles)
