- For the filling
- 4-5 tablespoons unsalted butter, brought to room temperature
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons ground cardamon
- 1 tablespoon 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 3 tablespoons orange zest
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup water
