- 3 Cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup Chopped sweet onion (hold 1/4 cup in reserve)
- 1/4 cup Chopped red bell pepper
- 1/4 cup Chopped celery
- 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoons Ground cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes
- to taste, Salt and Pepper
- 1/2 quart Vodka Pasta Sauce (Bertolli)
- 1 cup Diced tomato
- 2 tablespoons Capers
- 1/4 cup Diced fresh basil leaves
- 1/2 cup Grated parmesan or asiago cheese
