- 1 cup Split chickpeas/Channa Dal soaked in 4 cups of water or one can
- 1 small white onion
- 3 cloves garlic
- 2 tbsp. chopped parsley
- 1 tbsp. chopped cilantro
- 1 to 2 tsp. cayenne
- 1 tsp. cumin powder
- 1 tsp. coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp. Garam Masala or curry powder
- 1 tbsp. #1 fine bulgur wheat
- tiny pinch baking powder
- salt to taste
- Vegetable oil for deep frying
