  • 2 teaspoons minced fresh thyme

  • 1/2 cup sherry
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 onion, diced (about 2 cups)
  • 1 large leek, sliced into half moons (about 1 1/2 cups)
  • 1 1/2 pounds potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 2 1/2 cups half-and-half
  • 1/4 cup minced chives
  • 1/2 pound Dungeness crab meat, picked over
