- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper, ground
- 2 tablespoons sugar, adjust to your taste
- 4 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 1 cup pitted prunes
- 1/2 heaping teaspoon saffron threads, ground and dissolved in 2 tablespoons water
- 2 tablespoons pistachios, slivered or chopped
