Ingredients
- 1 to 2 large garlic cloves (to taste, halved, green shoots removed)
- Salt to taste (about 1 teaspoon)
- 3 pounds fava beans, shelled and skinned (just under 2 cups -- may use frozen double-peeled)
- 3 cups buttermilk
- Freshly ground pepper
- 3 tablespoons finely minced fresh mint
- 2 teaspoons minced chives
