- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 cups light brown sugar, packed
- 3 tablespoons scotch whiskey
- 2 cups heavy cream, divided
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 3 cups 2% milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
