Puffins with berry syrup
Ingredients
- 200g plain flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
- 3 eggs separated
- 40g butter melted and cooled, plus extra for the tin
- 3 tbsp sugar plus extra for dusting
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 400ml buttermilk
- icing sugar for sprinkling
- 100ml maple syrup
- about 100g berries frozen or fresh
