- 1 1/2 tablespoons ghee or canola oil
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon fenugreek seeds
- 4 to 5 curry leaves
- 2 cloves
- 2 to 3 whole black peppercorns
- Pinch of asafoetida
- 2 whole red dried chillies
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- Chopped cilantro, for garnish
