Cherry Marzipan Ice Cream
Ingredients
- Roast the cherries; this helps them remain soft when frozen (thanks, David Lebovitz):
- 30 cherries, stemmed but not pitted
- 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon brandy, kirsch, rum, or another liqueur (optional)
- For the ice cream:
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 cup cream
- 4 large egg yolks
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/2 cup crumbled marzipan
