Ingredients
- 8 ounces cremini mushrooms
- ½ a yellow onion
- 3 garlic cloves
- 3 parsley sprigs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ cup pearl onions (I buy the frozen ones)
- 1 cup red cooking wine (Burgundy, Beaujolais, Cotes du Rhone or Chianti)
- 4 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 2 slices cooked bacon, chopped
- ½ teaspoon dried thyme
- ½ teaspoon sugar
- ⅛ teaspoon pepper
- 8 ounces farfalle pasta
- 2 cups cubed cooked chicken pieces
- 3 tablespoons half and half
- 4 tablespoons sour cream, if desired for topping
