- ¼lb smoked bacon, thinly sliced
- 2 medium yellow onions, thinly sliced
- 3 large carrots, thinly sliced into rounds
- 2-3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 bay leaves
- ½ teaspoon of dried thyme
- 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon of tomato paste
- 1 bottle of red wine
- 2-3 cups of beef stock
- 1 teaspoon of arrowroot
- 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter
- 2-3 tablespoons of minced Italian Parsley
