Ingredients
- 1 lb box of wide lasagna noodles - fresh if you prefer
- 1 lb italian sausage - hot is preferred - if you can get the loose type it's easier - otherwise you have to take the skins off...
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 1/2 medium onion, chopped
- 2 - 4 large cloves garlic, minced
- 1 x 2 1/2 lb can tomato puree
- 1 small can tomato paste
- 2 x 14 oz cans tomato sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 cups ricotta - or more!
- 1/2 - 1 cup parmesan cheese
- 1 tblsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 2 tsp crushed chile
- 1 - 2 bay leaves
- 2 tblsp olive oil
- 1 - 2 tsp italian mixed spices
- 1/2 cup red wine - if you wouldn't drink it...don't use it!
- 1 lb mozzarella cheese, grated - or more!
