- 1 lb okra, trimmed (and halved lengthwise if quite large)
- 6 kosher salt, divided
- 3 c distilled white vinegar
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 t coriander seeds
- 1 t black peppercorns
- 1 t juniper berries
- 1/2 t cloves
- 1/2 t cinnamon
- 1/2 t red pepper flakes
- 2 medium onions, halved lengthwise and cut into 1/4 inch slices
- 5 fresh jalapenos, quartered lengthwise, seeds and ribs removed
