  • 3 cups sliced, frozen rice cakes
  • 1/4 cabbage (about 1/2 pound)
  • 1/2 pound mung bean sprouts
  • 1 cup firm tofu, chopped
  • 3 scallions, green tops removed
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 pound ground lean sirloin
  • 1/3 pound ground pork tenderloin
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 package gyoza wrappers
  • Black pepper
  • 3/4 pound flank steak
  • 3 quarts water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 envelope wonton soup base
  • 1 scallion sliced thinly on the diagonal
  • 1 beaten egg, cooked in one layer and julienned
  • 1 sheet nori (seaweed) cut into 2-inch long julienne
