- 4 whole cloves
- 2 bay leaves
- One 2-inch cinnamon stick
- 1 whole star anise
- 2⁄3 cup dry white wine
- 1 tsp. pimentón (smoked Spanish paprika)
- 1 cup apple cider vinegar
