- 1 teaspoon toovar (arhar) dal
- 0.5 teaspoon chana dal (split bengal gram)
- Pinch of cumin seeds
- 2 tablespoon toovar (arhar) dal
- 0.5 Cup chopped tomatoes
- 0.25 Cup tamarind (imli) pulp
- Pinch of asafoetida (hing)
- Pinch of turmeric powder (haldi)
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon oil
- 0.25 teaspoon mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
- 4 pieces curry leaves (kadi patta)
- 2 tablespoon chopped coriander (dhania)
