Ingredients
- For the Salad
- 2 pounds boneless steak (such as NY Strip)
- 3 ounces blue cheese, crumbled
- 4 shallots (including 1 for learning) or 1.5 C store-bought fried shallots
- 2 cups neutral oil for frying shallots (canola, vegetable, or peanut)
- 1 head Romaine lettuce
- 3 oranges (a combination of navel, blood, and cara cara oranges make a very pretty salad)
- For the dressing:
- 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed orange juice
- 2 tablespoons mint, chopped
